How Advance Landscape Center Started: Frank Kleczka started cutting grass and doing small jobs with a friend from high school, 28 years ago. They started with a lawn mower, a truck and several other tools. When they parted their own ways, the other partner took over some of the duties and frank took over more of the lawn care services. He needed a name for the company, with help from his dad they decide on Advance Landscape and Maintenance. At this time frank was working out of his home. He hired an employee to help with the work load. He realized that working out of home was a bit difficult. With the help of his father they purchased a piece of land at 5970 S Howell Ave. He purchased an old semi-trailer and used that as his work shop in the back of the lot.
Frank started buying loads of shredded bark and environmental bark for his own jobs, which helped him cut down on cost. Small landscape companies started stopping in and purchasing the bark. The small companies had no where to unload a semi of bark and Advance was centrally located for some of the companies. This is how the retail business started.
He realized that he needed an area for his supplies and an office so he built a building. He started purchasing more materials, several different types of stone and top soil. The public and small businesses started to see that we had materials that they needed. That is how the garden center started. Each year he would add more materials to sell. The building became a customer service area and a garage that we could store and repair the equipment.
